The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) has signed an investment agreement with Egyptian-Saudi company Techno Bond to establish an industrial complex for manufacturing aluminium cladding panels and aluminium coils at the Sokhna Industrial Zone.
SCZone Chairman Moustafa Shaikhon witnessed the signing ceremony on Wednesday at the authority’s headquarters in the New Capital.
The project will be developed within the Sokhna Industrial Zone under industrial developer Main Development Company (MDC), covering 25,000 square metres.
The project has an initial investment of $18 million, with plans to raise total investments to $50 million. Its first phase is expected to create around 200 jobs, with production scheduled to begin by the end of 2027.
Shaikhon said the Techno Bond project represents a valuable addition to SCZone’s industrial base, as it will manufacture products serving a wide range of industries and applications.
The project is part of SCZone’s strategy to attract diversified industrial investments that deepen local manufacturing and reduce reliance on imports, he added.
Shaikhon said the project would also facilitate the transfer and localisation of advanced technologies, supporting industries serving the construction sector and enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian products in domestic and regional markets.
It is also expected to create new export opportunities in Arab and African markets, he said, highlighting SCZone’s competitive advantages for establishing and expanding industrial investments.
Techno Bond is among the projects being developed under an initiative to expand industrial companies with export potential within SCZone, in co-operation with the Administrative Control Authority, aimed at supporting industrial investors and boosting their production and export capabilities.
