The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) announced that a giant container ship was successfully fueled at West Port Said port; the second of its kind in the SCZONE’s ports.
East Port Said port has recently witnessed the first process to fuel “VALENCIA EAGLE” cargo ship.
In a statement released on Sunday, SCZONE Chairman Walid Gamal el-Din said the giant container ship “CMA CGM MEKONG” was supplied with 100 tons of diesel at West Port Said harbor.
He added the process of fueling ships is carried out, in accordance with the agreed technical and legal standards, where all safety procedures and environmental requirements are followed.
SCZONE head stated the introduction of ship fueling service at West Port Said port raises the harbor’s classification globally, which in turn contributes to attracting many shipping lines.
It also attests to successful efforts made by the SCZONE’s ports to enhance the operational efficiency of services related to receiving ships.
