Revenues of the General Authority for Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) in the 2023/2024 fiscal year until February 29, 2024 registered EGP 5.3 billion, marking an increase of 54 percent compared with the same period a year earlier when they stood at EGP 3.45 billion.

This came at the SCZone board of directors’ second meeting in 2024 which discussed a number of important files, most notably the financial position of the SCZone authority during the period from July 1, 2023 to the end of February 2024.

The meeting was chaired by the authority chairman Walid Gamal el Din and attended by the ministers of housing, transport, international cooperation, trade and industry, alongside the governors of Port Said and Suez, among other senior officials, SCZone said in a statement on Saturday.

The minister of planning and economic development participated in the meeting via video conference.

Gamal el Din said the SCZone net profits till February 2024 registered EGP 3.74 billion compared to EGP 2.38 billion in the same period last year, posting a 57 percent rise.
