The Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority (SCZone) announced that East Port Said Port successfully received the vessel SUNSHINE ACE, which loaded 100 locally manufactured buses prepared for export. This move comes as part of Egypt’s efforts to boost exports and enhance the competitiveness of its products in international markets.
The SUNSHINE ACE, a specialised car carrier, measures approximately 199.95 metres in length and 32.2 metres in width, with a total carrying capacity of 58,917 tonnes. The vessel arrived from the port of Liman, Türkiye, and is scheduled to continue its journey to Tema Port in Ghana after completing the loading operations.
The shipment was carried out at the quay of the Suez Canal Automotive Terminal (SCAT), one of East Port Said’s specialised terminals. SCAT is equipped with advanced operational facilities, enabling it to handle such cargo efficiently. This successful operation underscores the growing operational capabilities of Egyptian ports, particularly East Port Said, supporting the growth of national exports — especially in the engineering and automotive sectors — and opening wider opportunities for Egyptian products to reach markets across the Middle East and Africa.
The move also reflects Egypt’s expanding role as a regional hub for transport and logistics and a key gateway for global trade, in line with the country’s strategic directives to leverage its advantageous geographic location and support comprehensive economic development plans.
