CAIRO – Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), said the SCZONE seeks to encourage investors to manufacture products depending on green fuel.
He said the authority s keen on accelerating emissions cut in the industrial and maritime domains in addition to enhancing cooperation with international partners in this domain.
In a statement on Wednesday, he said the zone is deeply appreciated internationally in this domain as it is based on eco-friendly systems.
He noted that the SCZONE has been designated as an “SDG Model Zone Partner” by the Global Alliance of Special Economic Zones (GASEZ).
This classification was announced during the World Investment Forum which was held in the United Arab Emirates in October 2023, and the second annual conference of “GASEZ”, which was held in Barcelona, Spain on November 9, 2023.
