CAIRO – Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) Walid Gamal el Din said the authority seeks to develop the infrastructure of its industrial areas and ports to lure further projects.

Gamal el Din’s remarks came while he was chairing the first meeting of the SCZONE’s executive committee in the New Administrative Capital on Sunday.

The meeting took up the SCZONE’s activity in the coming period, notably the activation of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) on green hydrogen projects.

Gamal el Din added the SCZONE is highly qualified to handle light, medium and heavy industries, citing the vital role played by the authority’s ports in promoting trade traffic.

He underlined the importance of the SCZONE’s participation in the UN Climate Change Conference 2022 (COP27) in Sharm el-Sheikh in November, especially as the authority targets centralize green fuel production in Egypt.
