Saudi acting Minister of Media Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi suggested on Wednesday that Egypt and Palestine be permanent members of the Council of Arab Information Ministers’ executive office.

Qasabi, the chairman of the previous session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, made the remarks during the opening of the 51st session of the council that kicked off at the Arab League (AL)’s headquarters in Cairo.

The Saudi minister noted that the Palestinian issue has been witnessing dangerous developments, which he said requires more efforts to raise the international community’s awareness of the importance of reviving the Palestinian-Israeli peace process and working to establish a Palestinian state with Al Quds (East Jerusalem) as its capital.

In this regard, he affirmed Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people.

Qasabi then handed over the presidency of the council to his Sudanese counterpart.
