Egyptian Petroleum Minister Tareq el Molla said on Monday that sales of the co-operation Petroleum Company (CPC) and Misr Petroleum Co. increased to nearly 16.5 million tons of different oil products during the fiscal year 2022-2023.
The sales were made through more than 2,822 stations across Egypt, the minister added during a meeting with the general assembly of both companies to endorse the outcome of the fiscal year 2022-2023.
The minister stressed the need to include the natural gas supply services to new oil stations or existing stations that are undergoing renovation.
This is done in line with a state approach to expand the use of natural gas as car fuel, Molla made it clear.
He also pressed for quick action to upgrade strategic depots and increase their storage capacities of the different petroleum products, while maintaining the standards of industrial security and occupational safety and health (OSH).
It is also important that petroleum companies work to expand fueling services for planes and ships, the minister said.
He also urged both companies to act to open new fields of action and find additional resources.
