CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala el-Saeed on Monday discussed with Dean of the Board of Executive Directors to the World Bank (WB) Group Merza Hasan and Executive Director of the Bank for Egypt and Arab countries Ragui el-Etreby ways of boosting joint co-operation.
Saeed tackled her ministry’s action plans and ongoing projects, topped by structural reforms which aim at upping the contribution of the industrial, agricultural and ICT sectors to national product and the presidential initiative “Decent Life”, as a largest development initiative worldwide.
The initiative is expected to achieve all UN sustainable development goals, she said.
The meeting also took up post-Covid recovery issues, in addition to the great attention Egypt is paying to green economy.
In turn, Hasan commended steps taken by the Egyptian State to attend to the coronavirus pandemic and the national economy’s capability of recovering in the shadow of the international economic situation.
He asserted the WB is very interested in deepening co-operation with Egypt and supporting it in all programmes it is offering to achieve further economic progress.
