South Sinai Governor Khaled Mubarak welcomed Maj Gen Michael Garraway, Commander of the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO), based in Sinai, and the accompanying delegation.
The meeting, which took place at the at the governorate premises in Sharm El-Sheikh reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen relations and enhance cooperation between both sides.
Mubarak emphasised the solid and constructive partnership between the governorate and the MFO, andhighlighting shared commitment to fruitful collaboration.
For his part, The MFO Commander expressed gratitude for the warm reception, lauding the security, and stability of Sharm El-Sheikh.
He noted the remarkable development the city has undergone, which has gained international acclaim, and shared the force’s enthusiasm for bringing their families to spend holidays in Sharm El-Sheikh, enjoying its diverse attractions and pleasant climate.
Garraway also commended the ambitious development projects in South Sinai, driven by national strategic plans, with the aim of advancing various sectors.
He also highlighted the significant progress in Saint Catherine through the “Great Transfiguration” project, which seeks to establish the city as a global destination for religious, cultural, and environmental tourism.
Governor Mubarak invited Garraway to attend the Saint Catherine Feast celebration and presented him with a model of the monastery building as a token of appreciation. The meeting concluded with the exchange of commemorative photos between the two sides.
