Ambassador of Republic of Korea to Egypt Hong Jin-wook met with Governor of South Sinai Khaled Fouda to discuss how to expand already strong people-to-people exchanges between the two nations.
The two officials agreed to pursue bigger and closer exchanges between both peoples to make the relationship more sustainable.
The meeting comes at a time when Egyptian-Korean ties have been developing apace, thanks to the historic visit by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to the Republic of Korea in 2016 and the more recent visit by former Korean President Moon Jae-in to Egypt last January.
The meeting focused on ways to boost human exchanges through the re-opening of direct flights between the two nations and the creation of a One-stop Service Call Centre for Korean travellers in need in South Sinai.
Ambassador Hong will be visiting St. Catherine, Taba and Dahab to monitor the security and safety measures for Korean tourists in the region.
