CAIRO – The Russian Embassy in Cairo has congratulated the Egyptian national football team on winning the quarter-final encounter against Morocco as part of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Egypt qualified for the semifinals after beating Morocco 2-1 in the quarter-final tie Sunday.
The Russian Embassy, in a tweet Tuesday, also wished the Egyptian squad further success in the tournament.
Egypt is set to meet up Cameroon in a semifinal game on Thursday.
