Egypt’s Ambassador to Italy, Bassam Rady, on Friday highlighted the upcoming inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) in a promotional event held in Rome. The cultural seminar was organised by the Egyptian Embassy.
The event focused on the historical cultural ties between Egypt and Italy, with Ambassador Rady delivering a presentation showcasing the global significance of the GEM’s scheduled opening on July 3.
Rady detailed the museum’s expansive exhibition halls, its overall size and capacity, and its associated facilities, emphasising its status as the world’s largest archaeological museum and a significant cultural landmark for Egypt.
A key attraction highlighted by the ambassador is the GEM’s unique presentation of the complete collection of King Tutankhamun’s treasures, comprising 5,000 artifacts, which will be displayed in its entirety for the first time. The museum aims to offer an unparalleled insight into Egypt’s rich archaeological and cultural heritage.
