Report highlights 2025 partnership outcomes with UN agencies

The Ministry of Planning, Economic Development and International Co-operation has released its 2025 annual report, highlighting the outcomes of its strategic partnership with United Nations organisations and underscoring Egypt’s active role in advancing sustainable development at the national, regional, and global levels.
The report outlines key milestones achieved under the Egypt–UN Strategic Partnership for Sustainable Development (2023–2027), reflecting Egypt’s longstanding relationship with the
United Nations as a founding member state.
Among the most notable achievements was the launch of Egypt’s first Integrated National Financing Strategy for Development, which provides a comprehensive roadmap to bridge the sustainable development financing gap through an integrated national financing framework supported by robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms.
During 2025, the ministry also launched the Global Investment Report in co-operation with UNCTAD and introduced a unified Monitoring and Evaluation Operational Guide, developed with UNDP, aimed at strengthening results-based management and improving the effectiveness of development follow-up and impact assessment.
The ministry issued the second edition of the Sustainable Development Goals Localisation Reports, covering all 27 governorates, and launched preparatory work for Egypt’s 2026 Human Development Report. Egypt also played a leading role in a major multilateral initiative announced in Seville to advance integrated financing frameworks for sustainable development and climate action.
At the international level, the ministry participated actively in major global forums, including the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development in Seville, the UN High-Level Political Forum, the Arab Forum for Sustainable Development, and G20 development meetings. Egypt also contributed to the launch of the Seville Platform for Action, the UN Secretary-General’s Debt Experts Report, and the Borrowers’ Forum.
In addition, the ministry played a key role in drafting and supporting several national strategies in co-operation with UN entities, covering social protection, population and health, green urban development, digital health, and the inclusion of persons with disabilities, reinforcing Egypt’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable growth.
