The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said Tuesday that remittances of Egyptian expatriates hit $3.1 billion in April recording an increase of 24.4% on an annual basis against $2.5 billion in April 2021.
In a statement, a copy of which MENA obtained, the CBE said April’s remittances declined by 7.2% compared to $3.3 billion in March 2022.
It pointed out that expats’ cash transfers during the period from January 2022 to April 2022 stood at $11.1 billion with a rise of 7.7% on an annual basis.
