CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation el-Sayyed el-Quseir on Thursday met with Abdel Karim el-Nuheir, the new CEO of a Saudi poultry company, and his accompanying delegation to discuss ways of boosting joint co-operation to pump more investments in the coming period.
The company is doing business in Egypt in livestock and poultry projects.
Talks took up the company’s endeavors aimed at exporting its products to global markets, given the fact that all its facilities are approved by the World Organization for Animal Health as being free from bird flu.
Quseir commended the role of the private sector in boosting development and economic rates in Egypt, pointing out to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to encourage the private sector and attract more foreign and local investments.
Egypt is achieving self-sufficiency in poultry production, with investments hitting more than 100 billion Egyptian pounds, according to him.
The agriculture ministry is contributing to tapping foreign markets to export the surplus, the Egyptian official noted.
Quseir paid tribute to Saudi investments in Egypt, as the two countries have strong ties in the various fields.
In turn, Nuheir praised strenuous efforts exerted by the agriculture ministry to get the approval of the WOAH to approve 30 areas free of bird flu.
