Qatari amb. to Egypt affirms keenness on participating in CIBF

CAIRO – Qatari Ambassador to Egypt Tariq Ali Faraj al Ansari affirmed keenness on his country’s participation in the proceedings of Cairo International Book Fair (CIBF), which is considered one of the most important Arab and international cultural forums.

In statements to MENA on Friday, Ansari said that Qatar’s participation in the CIBF primarily aims to promote bridges of cultural communication and introducing the cultural and intellectual contributions of Qatar.

He further referred to the participation of various Qatari publishing houses in the CIBF.

The Qatari ambassador, meanwhile, lauded the outstanding organisation of the CIBF, referring to the huge turnout, which testifies to the significance of the cultural event.

The 55th edition of the fair, which will last until February 6, is held under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and was inaugurated by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli and Culture Minister Nivine el Kilani.

Held at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre in New Cairo, the book fair hosts 1,200 publishing houses from 70 countries.
