CAIRO – Egyptian State Minister for Military Production Mohamed Ahmed Morsi has made an inspection tour of Abu Zaabal Company for Engineering Industries (Factory 100).
During the visit, Morsi said that the project comes as part of directives made by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to strengthen the local armour steel industry.
The Military Production Ministry, through Factory 100 and in co-operation with one of the Egyptian private sector companies, started to use the latest technologies in the steel industry, he noted.
He, meanwhile, underlined the importance of co-operation between the private and public sectors to implement the various national projects.
The domestic steel production is essential for national security, he affirmed, adding that the ministry is keen on exporting armour steels and opening new regional and international markets for it, a matter which will further flourish the national economy.
The Military Production Ministry is the mainstay of military industrialisation in Egypt, said the ministry’s spokesman Mohamed Eid Bakr.
The ministry is keen on implementing mega projects which aim to encourage local production and earn hard currency for the state’s coffers, added the spokesman.
