CAIRO – Chairman, Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) Mohamed Zaki El Sewedy said the private sector will follow up with the government the steps taken to implement the state ownership policy document.
In statements to MENA on Friday, the FEI chairman deemed as a “positive step” the government’s plan to increase the percentage of the private sector participation in projects to reach 65%.
Swedey further underlined his meeting with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli on Thursday to assert the State’s support of the industrial sector via taking a set of measures to back this sector, including providing industrial lands with usufruct and easing licensing procedures, notably the issuance of the “Golden License”.
The industrial license will be issued within 20 days, he noted.
The State’s plan also aims at increasing the volume of exports to 100 billion dollars, Swedey said.
He also stressed the importance of the good use of existing resources and wastes, a matter that will help reduce imports and beef up exports.
