Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli underlined the importance of the current projects to upgrade the capitals of governorates and Old Cairo area.

He said the government seeks to set up an integrated urban housing project in each governorate to improve living standards of citizens.

Madbouli gave the remarks during a meeting with head of Urban Development Fund Khaled el Sediq late on Saturday to follow up the progress rate of these projects.

He underlined the importance of finalizing Fustat Garden development project as soon as possible.

The project to develop provincial capitals includes 13 governorates, namely Cairo, Suez, Damietta, Minya, Sohag, Kafr el Sheikh, Gharbiya, Dakhalia, Sharqiya, Qena, Menoufia, Fayyum and Qalioubia.

Covering an area of ​​500 feddans in the heart of Historic Cairo, the Fustat Gardens national project is considered the largest of its kind in the Middle East.

Entitled “A View of Egypt’s Eternal History”, the Fustat Hills Park aims to revive the Egyptian heritage through various Pharaonic, Islamic and modern eras, along with launching cultural and commercial activities, hotel services and open theaters, in addition to an area of ​​ancient monuments and excavations and a large plateau that allows unique visual contact with the Pyramids of Giza, Salah El-Din Citadel and Cairo minarets.
