CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait said the president has issued directives to maximize digitization efforts in conjunction with moving to the New Administrative Capital via expanding digital solutions in order to facilitate measures, stimulate investment and enhance governance.

The minister made remarks during his meeting with the representatives of PricewaterhouseCoopers International on the fringe of his participation in the meetings of the commercial mission in London.

Maait said the State is keen to transfer the distinguished international experiments in the fields of developing and mechanizing tax and customs systems and from the European expertise in particular in the area of addressing the tax challenges raised by the digital economy.

Work will be launched in the coming period to outline and announce the 2030 strategic vision for tax policies and administration with a view to encouraging business and investment climate in Egypt, he added.

Egypt was at the forefront of countries in Africa and the Middle East that applied e-bill system successfully, he noted.
