The Ministry of Health and Population announced that 4,753,000 young men and women — both Egyptian and non-Egyptian — have completed premarital medical examinations under the Presidential Premarital Screening Initiative.
Launched in February 2023 as part of the national “100 Million Healthy Lives” campaign, the initiative has successfully achieved its objectives within a three-year timeframe.
Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar, stated that participants receive accredited health certificates secured with QR code technology, valid for six months from the date of issuance.
He stressed the importance of undergoing the required examinations at least 14 days prior to marriage to ensure timely access to results and completion of marriage registration procedures.
The initiative underscores the state’s commitment to advancing public health and fostering the formation of stable, healthy families.
By enabling early detection of infectious, genetic, and non-communicable diseases, it plays a vital role in reducing their transmission to future generations, while also offering essential medical guidance to couples preparing for marriage.
The ministry reaffirms its dedication to transparency and public engagement, encouraging citizens to seek further information through its verified social media platforms on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
