Cairo– Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi called for providing all possible assistance to support the Libyan brothers in all fields, and strengthening co-operation between the two countries in order to help improve economic conditions, achieve security and stability and support the implementation of the agreed roadmap for the elections in December.
The president’s remarks came during his meeting with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli to review the results of his recent visit to Libya heading a high-level ministerial delegation, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
For his part, PM Madbouli reviewed the various files and topics that were discussed with the Libyan side, including the agreement on the reopening of the Egyptian diplomatic missions in both Tripoli and Bani Ghazi as soon as possible in addition to the return of Egyptian workers to Libya.
Discussions also included efforts to facilitate movement between the two countries as it was agreed in this regard to speed setting up controls to regulate the status of Egyptian workers in addition to the use of Egyptian companies, especially in the electricity, infrastructure, housing and transportation sectors, in order to implement the various projects scheduled to be launched during the coming period in Libya.
Prime Minister Madbouli also referred to the agreement to set a date for the resumption of the work of the Joint Egyptian-Libyan Higher Committee during the coming weeks, for the first time after its suspension since 2009.
