President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi paid brief fraternal visits on Thursday to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar, reaffirming Egypt’s full solidarity with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states amid ongoing regional tensions.

According to the Presidency Spokesman Mohamed El-Shennawy, El-Sisi began his tour in the UAE, where he was received by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

During a closed-door meeting, El-Sisi  stressed Egypt’s full support for the UAE and its leadership’s measures to safeguard national security and stability.

He strongly condemned Iranian attacks on Gulf states, stressing that Gulf security is an integral part of Egypt’s national security.

El-Sisi also reviewed Egypt’s efforts to de-escalate tensions, noting that Cairo has conveyed a clear message to Tehran rejecting attacks on Gulf countries and calling for an immediate halt.

He emphasized the need to return to diplomatic negotiations as the only path to resolving the crisis in line with international law and the UN Charter.

For his part, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed welcomed the visit, praising Egypt’s steadfast support and its role in promoting regional stability.

Both leaders also discussed bilateral ties and regional developments, stressing the importance of continued coordination.

El-Sisi then traveled to Qatar, where he was received by Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. In expanded talks, the President reiterated Egypt’s full support for Qatar and all GCC states, backing measures to protect their sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The two sides reviewed efforts to reduce escalation, including Egypt’s communications with Iran, which stressed Cairo’s rejection of attacks on Gulf nations.

Sheikh Tamim expressed appreciation for Egypt’s support and ongoing coordination, highlighting strong bilateral ties.

Both leaders agreed to intensify consultations to restore regional stability.

El-Sisi later returned to Cairo following the visits.
