President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a phone call on Wednesday with Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Sultan of Oman during which the two leaders discussed the latest regional developments and ways to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East.
President Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with Oman, stressing that the security and stability of the Sultanate of Oman, and of all Arab states, form an integral part of Egypt’s national security, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed el-Shennawy said.
The president stressed the need to intensify efforts to reduce regional tensions, praising Oman’s constructive role in this regard. He also outlined Egypt’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to achieve regional stability and security. He underscored the importance of maintaining peace in the Middle East, avoiding escalation, and pursuing peaceful solutions to the current crisis.
For his part, Sultan Haitham expressed appreciation for Egypt’s consistent supportive stance towards Oman, as well as Cairo’s sustained efforts to de-escalate regional conflicts and resolve crises through peaceful means.
He also praised the deep fraternal ties between the two countries and peoples, affirming Oman’s commitment to enhancing bilateral relations.
The two leaders agreed during the call to continue political consultation and coordination on various regional issues, including efforts to restore stability in the region.
