Egyptian Ambassador to Italy Bassam Rady delivered President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s Christmas greetings to the Egyptian Coptic community in Italy on the occasion of Christmas, during his attendance at the Christmas Mass.
He was accompanied by Ambassador Hussein el-Saharaty, Egypt’s ambassador to the Vatican, Colonel Mohamed Shahin, the Egyptian military attaché at the embassy, and all members of the Egyptian Embassy in Rome, at the Church of Mar Girgis in Rome, in the presence of Anba Barnaba, Bishop of Turin and Rome.
Rady read the President’s message to the Egyptian Coptic communities abroad, which stated:
“Brothers and sisters, Copts of Egypt abroad, I am pleased to extend to you my warmest heartfelt congratulations and sincerest wishes on the occasion of the celebration of the glorious Christmas. I take this blessed opportunity to express my wishes for your continued success and prosperity, praying to God that He may make it a happy and blessed feast, return it to you with all goodness and joy, and grant our dear Egypt enduring progress and prosperity. May you be well every year.”
Bassam Rady added that the birth of Jesus Christ, son of Maryam (Mary), peace be upon him, is a commemorative occasion in which we recall an eternal human value: a prophet who came for peace, called for love, and made faith a bridge between heaven and earth, so that – peace be upon him – he would be a message of goodness for all humanity.
