President Abdel Fattah El Sisi presided over a meeting on Thursday to review the implementation of the state’s governance framework for new recruitments, promotions and appointments to leadership positions.
This is part of the president’s follow-up on administrative reform efforts and initiatives aiming at developing human capital and preparing a pool of leaders capable of driving institutional and societal transformation, thereby enhancing Egypt’s regional and international standing, Presidency Spokesman Mohamed El-Shennawy, said.
The meeting featured Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher, Head of the Administrative Control Authority Major General Amr Adel Hosni, Head of the Central Agency for Organisation and Administration Hatem Nabil, Director of the Egyptian Military Academy Major General Mohamed Salah El-Turki, and Executive Director of the National Academy for Training and Youth Qualification Salwa Gouili.
The meeting affirmed that developing the state’s administrative apparatus is a comprehensive process encompassing several key pillars, including human resource development and training, infrastructure upgrading, and the restructuring of organisational and administrative relationships among government entities in line with their functions and specialisations.
In addition, the meeting also reviewed work progress in a number of institutional development projects, the expansion of electronic assessment tools, the modernisation of work and training mechanisms, and efforts to invest in human capital by selecting qualified personnel capable of improving management practices and enhancing the quality of public services, in co-ordination with the relevant authorities.
President Sisi stressed the need to continue efforts to upgradethe state administrative system to ensure greater efficiency, effectiveness and responsiveness to the requirements of comprehensive development process, Spokesman El-Shennawy said.
The president also directed officials to further boost the rational use of resources and achieve higher levels of governance and institutional effectiveness, while maintaining the application of merit, competence and transparency standards across all procedures within the state administrative apparatus.
