President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to continuing the development and restoration of mosques associated with Ahl al-Bayt (family of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him) across the country, and stressed the importance of preserving Islamic heritage sites.
The president also commended the Indian Bohra Community for its notable contributions to the restoration of historic mosques and shrines in Cairo, as well as wider its development and charitable initiatives.
These remarks came during a meeting held on Monday with Sultan Mufaddal Saifuddin, Sultan of the Bohra Community, alongside his sons, Prince Jafar Al-Sadiq Imaduddin, Prince Taha Najmuddin, and Prince Hussein Burhanuddin.
The Sultan’s representative in Cairo, Mufaddal Muhammad Hassan, also attended the meeting.
At the outest, President Sisi warmly welcomed the Sultan, praising the longstanding and distinguished relationship between Egypt and the Bohra Community.
He also reiterated Egypt’s readiness to provide all necessary support to facilitate the Community’s ongoing efforts in this regard.
For his part, Sultan Mufaddal Saifuddin expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm reception he consistently receives during his visits to Egypt.
He highlighted the Bohra Community’s continued dedication to the restoration and maintenance of Ahl al-Bayt mosques and historic Islamic sites, and conveyed his interest in promoting increased Bohra tourism to Egypt for cultural, religious, and recreational purposes.
The discussions also addressed current regional developments, with President Sisi reiterating Egypt’s firm commitment to supporting efforts aimed at de-escalation and the promotion of stability.
For his part, Sultan Mufaddal commended Egypt’s pivotal role in fostering peace and security at both the regional and international levels, and praised the country’s ongoing efforts to build a more stable and prosperous future for all.
