CAIRO – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi opened Sunday Al Sayyida Zeinab Mosque after completing its development and restoration process in the presence of Sultan Mufaddal Mufaddal Saifuddin, Sultan of the Bohra Community in India.
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Endowments Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa attended the inauguration ceremony.
President Sisi performed Tahiyyat al-Masjid prayer (Greeting the Mosque) upon his arrival.
President Sisi and Sultan Mufaddal Saifuddin, Sultan of the Bohra Community in India, listened to verses of the Holy Quran.
After that, Sultan Mufaddal delivered his speech, in which he expressed his thanks to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the wise government and honorable Egyptian people for authorizing the reconstruction of this honorable shrine again for Al Sayyida Zeinab, daughter of Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib and Al Sayyida Fatima al-Zahra, daughter of Prophet Muhammed – (may God bless him and his family and grant him peace) and sister of Imams Hassan and Hussein.
Sultan Mufaddal Saifuddin, Sultan of the Bohra community in India, said – in his speech after the inauguration of Sayyida Zainab Mosque, in the presence of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi – that “Sayyida Zainab has a especial place in the hearts of Muslims in general and in the hearts of the people of Egypt in particular.”
He also wished security, stability, peace and prosperity for the people of Egypt and prayed for God Almighty to protect the Muslim nation against any evil.
He thanked President Sisi for giving him the opportunity to participate in the inauguration.
At the end of his speech, the Sultan of the Bohra community in India expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the various state bodies, especially the Egyptian Ministry of Endowments and its strenuous drives under directives of President Sisi to rebuild and revamp mosques.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi delivered a speech in which he stressed that Egypt has a great plan to develop the mosques of Ahl al-Bayt and the Companions, expressing his appreciation and thanks to Sultan Mufaddal Saifuddin, Sultan of the Bohra community in India for his participation and contribution to the development of Al-Bayt mosques.
President Sisi and the Sultan of the Bohra community in India dotted the letters “In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,” and then Sultan Mufaddal gave a memorial gift to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
President Sisi and Sultan Mufaddal Saifuddin made an inspection tour of Al Sayyida Zeinab Mosque after its development, during which they shook hands with some sheikhs and scholars.
