JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia – Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met Saturday with his US counterpart Joe Biden on the sidelines of the Jeddah Summit for Security and Development.
President Sisi had arrived at Jeddah airport Saturday morning and was received by Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi Crown Prince.
Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said president Sisi’s participation in the Jeddah gathering is part of Egypt’s keenness on developing the participation between Arab countries and the US in order to achieve aspirations and interests of current and coming generations of peoples of the region.
The Egyptian leader’s participation in the summit aims to boost joint efforts to face regional and global challenges and promote consultation and coordination aimed at maintaining security and stability regionally and internationally, in addition to enhancing and developing distinguished and historical relations with all countries taking part in the gathering, added Radi.
The spokesman said president Sisi will hold a number of bilateral meetings with the leaders participating in the Jeddah summit to discuss ways of fostering bilateral relations and the latest developments regionally and internationally.
