CAIRO – Jordan’s Ambassador to Egypt and its permanent representative to the Arab League Amjad Adaileh said that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Jordanian King Abdullah II have established a solid framework and an integrated vision for Cairo-Amman relations, which are based on common interests, continued coordination, and solidarity in dealing with various challenges and repercussions of the crises experienced by the region and the entire world.
In statements to MENA, Adaileh said President Sisi’s meeting with Jordanian Prime Minister Bisher Al-Khasawneh Thursday ahead of meetings of the Egyptian-Jordanian Joint Higher Committee confirms Sisi’s direct support and follow up on Egypt’s course of relations and cooperation with Jordan.
The verbal message conveyed by Khasawneh from King Abdullah II to President Sisi is integrated with a mutual interest in maintaining historical, well-established relations whose model is something to be proud of at the Arab and regional levels, the ambassador added.
It also indicates a better future for Cairo-Amman fraternal relations, he said, noting that this model of cooperation and strategic coordination goes beyond bilateral issues to Arab and international ones.
In this regard, Adaileh said the message carried by Khasawneh touched on the joint efforts of Egypt and Jordan towards the Palestinian issue, and their continued cooperation with other Arab states and international actors to intensify efforts meant to immediately stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and deliver humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in a comprehensive and sustainable manner.
Meanwhile, Adaileh expressed his deep appreciation to the Egyptian government, chaired by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, for all the efforts made to host and ensure the success of the 32nd session of the Egyptian-Jordanian Joint Higher Committee.
