PARIS – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi expressed aspiration for developing prospects of joint cooperation with France in the economic and trade fields, especially via boosting French investments in Egypt in light of the promising opportunities offered by major projects in the country.
President Sisi made the remarks during his meeting on Friday with French Minister for Economy, Finance, Industry and Digital Security Bruno Le Maire.
The French minister asserted his country’s keenness to maximize cooperation with Cairo in various fields, which he said would benefit the ongoing development process in the North African country, said Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi.
In this regard, he noted that many economic and development successes have been made by Egypt thanks to efforts that are exerted by the State at all levels, added the spokesman.
Le Maire also pointed out to the pivotal role played by Cairo in laying the foundations of security and stability in the Middle East, according to the spokesman.
The two sides agreed on the importance of promoting development projects and French investments in Egypt, particularly in the new and renewable energy sector; amid the approach of the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference (COP27), to be held in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh in November, said the spokesman.
