CAIRO – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi emphasised that Egypt is living in peace and safety, thanks to the great sacrifices of the martyrs and the wounded.

“We will never forget each and every martyr or injured person and we support their next of kin. Egypt has never forgotten them as their sacrifices have been giving security and stability to the Egyptian people and safeguarding the state,” the president said.

The president’s remarks came while attending celebrations marking the 73rd anniversary of the Police Day, January 25, at the Police Academy on Wednesday following shaking hands with Randa Mahmoud Abdel-Muttalib, the mother of officer Omar al Qadi, the martyr of the “Hero 14” ambush, who was attacked while confronting a terrorist group on Eid El Fitr, June 2019 in Sinai. He and all other members of the ambush were martyred.

President Sisi said he appreciates the greater sacrifices of all the martyrs and the wounded for the sake of Egypt.

He added we must safeguard the sacrifices of the martyrs and pay the price of stability despite its cruelty, so that more than 100 million Egyptians can live in safety.
