Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Wednesday attended the graduation ceremony of a new batch of the Police Academy.
Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Defence Minister Mohamed Zaki, Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfiq , House of Representatives Speaker Hanafi el-Gebali and senior state officials and police commanders received the president upon his arrival.
The ceremony includes parades showing the high capabilities of the graduates in dealing with the different targets.
The Egyptian Police Academy is one of the oldest and largest at the world level and the first at the regional level.
President Sisi said the batch is the second of students of post-graduate studies in the field of law and specialised faculties.
The president said that the educational process is being developed, referring to the programmes being implemented by the Interior Ministry for honing skills and upgrading the performance of its personnel and fresh graduates of the Police Academy.
At the end of the ceremony, he wished policemen to succeed in their mission.
Police cadets, graduates from the Faculty of Law, and female cadets, performed special skills they learned in the academy including combat skills in self-defence to control the enemy.
They also made a performance with steel weapons including daggers and training on storming buildings from heights.
The cadets performed an amazing sport show as part of the celebration where soldiers of combat operations with strong physical capabilities managed to draw a 10-tonne armor while female students formed spidery formations used in storming operations.
They jumped above high barriers and stormed fortified doors using iron hammers to warn the enemy they would strike with an iron fist those who think of hurting Egypt’s security.
A number of the academy cadets performed show on camouflage and hiding during the security missions to spot the enemy while carrying out anti-terror operations.
During the performance, a documentary was screened on how to storm a mountainous area used by terrorists as a hideout.
They trained on extending first aid to help those injured during the security operations.
President Sisi witnessed a show by a rapid intervention unit created by the Ministry of Interior as the unit members received training at the highest level with the most modern technology, equipment and vehicles to control security situation.
The president witnessed a military parade of new graduates who included cadets from Arab and African countries namely Central African Republic, Burundi, Chad, Comoros, South Sudan, Djibouti, Zambia, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Guinea Conakry, Palestine, Cameroon and Lesotho.
At the end of the ceremony, all attendees stood in honor of president Sisi while the national anthem played.
