CAIRO – President Abdel Fattah El Sisi affirmed Egypt’s commitment to the security, stability, and sovereignty of brotherly Somalia over its territories, and its support for Somalia in facing various security and developmental challenges.
This came during a phone call received by President El Sisi from his Somalia counterpart Hassan Sheikh Mohamud as they discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between Egypt and Somalia.
Both presidents expressed their welcome for the momentum in cooperation between the two countries in recent times and their keenness to expand this cooperation to include various fields, in accordance with the fraternal ties between the two peoples.
Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy stated that the call also addressed the situation in the Horn of Africa region.
The two presidents emphasized their commitment to ensuring the security and stability of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, which would positively impact the Horn of Africa and its peoples.
They stressed their rejection of any unilateral actions that could harm the stability of the region and highlighted the necessity for all regional countries to adhere to frameworks of cooperation, ensuring stability and development for its peoples.
