President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, performed Friday prayers at the Field Marshal Tantawi Mosque to mark the commemoration of Martyrs’ Day and Veterans’ Day.

The prayers were attended by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Minister of Defence and Military Production, Lieutenant General Ashraf Zaher, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, as well as a number of ministers, senior state officials, commanders of the main military branches, and senior Armed Forces personnel.

Presidency Spokesman Mohamed el-Shennawy said that Sheikh El-Sayyed Hussein Abdel Bari delivered the Friday sermon, highlighting the virtue of martyrdom and the elevated status of those who sacrifice their lives to safeguard the nation’s security and defend its sanctities.

He emphasised that the sacrifices of the martyrs stand as a lasting example for all citizens, urging society to follow their path of dedication and selflessness so that the nation’s flag continues to fly high and its stability and security remain preserved.
