Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi Saturday affirmed Egypt’s keenness on promoting all aspects of bilateral cooperation with Denmark, including the parliamentary ties, in light of elevating relations between the two countries to the level of strategic partnership.
The president highlighted the importance of boosting parliamentary relations between Egypt and Denmark in a way that reflects the strength and depth of relations between both countries, due to the crucial role of parliaments in advancing bilateral relations.
President Sisi made the remarks during a meeting with Speaker of the Folketing (Danish parliament) Soren Gade during his current state visit to Denmark, which is the first-leg of the president’s European tour.
Folketring’s speaker welcomed president Sisi and hailed relations between the two friendly countries, emphasizing Denmark’s interest in promoting cooperation with Egypt that enjoys pioneering status at both the regional and international levels, according to Presidential Spokesman Mohamed el Shennawy.
The president expressed appreciation for the warm reception by the Danish side, the spokesman said.
The meeting focused on Egypt’s development efforts and opportunities available for cooperation between the two countries in various fields, Shennawy stated.
The talks also touched on regional and international developments and their repercussions on stability in the Middle East and the world, the spokesman added.
Concluding his visit to the Danish Parliament, the President signed the distinguished visitors’ guestbook, wishing Denmark, its leaderships and people enduring progress and prosperity, Shennway said.
