Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi called for continuing work on various projects of the Ministry of Housing nationwide and to complete them according to the specified timetables, while developing marketing programmes and financing packages for housing units with the aim of making more of them available to all segments of citizens.
The President’s remarks came during his meeting yesterday with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli and Minister of Housing Assem el-Gazzar, during which he reviewed the executive situation of the projects being implemented by the Ministry of Housing nationwide, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
During the meeting, the President reviewed the progress of projects within the New Administrative Capital, especially the situation of work in the government quarter, as well as the ongoing construction of roads and main entrances to the capital, work in the financial and business district in addition to landscaping work in squares and axes, and work in the Green River area.
The Minister of Housing also presented the progress of work in the new Alamein City, including its various projects such as the heritage city and the Latin Quarter. He also presented the executive situation of the facilities and services in the new city of Mansoura.
The President was also briefed on the developments of work on the “Greatest Transfiguration Project in Sibau” in the vicinity of the Musa and Saint Catherine mountains, with all its hotel, tourist and service components.
The project comes in recognition of the area’s unique spiritual value that stems from being the host of the three monotheistic religions.
The President also followed up on the development of the historic Cairo area, which aims to restore the civilised face of Cairo, including the ongoing development process in the Aqueduct area, as well as the development of the Amr ibn al-Aas and Sayeda Ruqayya mosques and efforts to develop Khedive Cairo to make it a tourist, recreational and cultural attraction.
Minister el-Gazzar also presented the Ministry of Housing’s plans during the coming period to offer various housing, administrative and commercial units to Egyptians expatriates.
He also reviewed the Ministry’s efforts to implement the President’s directives regarding the development of new programmes to provide units for rent in new housing projects.
