President Abdel Fattah El Sisi paid tribute on Thursday to Egypt’s fallen heroes by laying a floral wreath at the Armed Forces Martyrs Cenotaph in Nasr City, marking the 43rd anniversary of the Sinai Liberation Day.
The solemn ceremony reflects the nation’s enduring gratitude for the sacrifices of its military heroes in reclaiming the land of Sinai, said the Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed el-Shennawy.
He added that President Sisi was received by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defence and Military Production, Lieutenant General Abdul-Meguid Saqr, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, and other senior officials.
As part of the commemoration, the president also laid a floral wreath at the tomb of the late President Mohamed Anwar Sadat, honoring the legacy of the leader whose vision and courage played a pivotal role in the liberation of Sinai.
