President for optimising ties with int’l bodies to bolster development

Abdel Fattah El Sisi has called for promoting developmental co-operation with international parties with a view to maximising the benefits of such co-operation in achieving comprehensive development in various sectors.

 

The president’s remarks came during his meeting with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli and International Co-operation Minister Rania al-Mashat, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.

The meeting, he added, aimed at following up the pace of International Co-operation Ministry’s efforts within the framework of the state’s strategy for optimising co-operation with international financing institutions and partners in the realisation of various national developmental projects.

In this connection, President Sisi made special reference to the National Project for Upgrading the Egyptian Countryside, Spokesman Radi said. The project involves in its first stage the upgrading of living conditions, the socio-economic setting and public services in 1,500 villages located in various parts of the country.

In her presentation during the meeting, Minister Mashat reviewed the most prominent development co-operation efforts with international partners to mobilise all forms of necessary support for the major development projects being implemented in various sectors in the country.

In the course of the presentation, Minister Mashat outlined a proposed action plan for expanding the countryside upgrading project to support rural communities and women.

The plan includes identifying the villages and areas considered most suitable for expanding the project in accordance with detailed standards and studies.
