Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed the importance of devising a comprehensive strategy for developing the nursing sector and training healthcare personnel, which is part of state efforts to upgrade medical sector.
President Sisi made these remarks during his meeting on Wednesday with Presidential Adviser for Health Affairs Mohamed Awad Tag Eddin, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
The president was briefed, during the meeting, on the global epidemiological situation in general, its impact on medical system in Egypt and the national preventive plans to limit the outbreak of such epidemic diseases.
The president underscored the importance of devising an integrated and comprehensive strategy for dealing with these epidemics by offering all means of care and treatment.
With regard to the situation of Covid-19 pandemic nationwide, Tag Eddin referred to the noticeable and continuous drop in the number of infections. He said that most of the diagnosed cases suffer from simple symptoms without health complications, according to the presidency spokesman.
The president gave directives to sustain preventive public awareness programmes and vaccination campaigns for citizens through vaccination centres across the country.
He called for facilitating access to Covid-19 vaccine booster doses, and strengthening the vaccine manufacturing system in Egypt to ensure their continued availability, Radi said in his roundup of the meeting.
During the meeting, Tag Eddin reviewed efforts to develop organ transplant system in Egypt, as well as the development of the pharmaceutical sector to ensure the provision of all essential medicines to the public.
