Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi followed up on the developments of the executive position of a number of national projects for agricultural production and land reclamation, especially in the Toshka region as well as the Future of Egypt project which comes as part of the New Delta project.
The president’s remarks came during his meeting on Monday with Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning Amir Sayed Ahmed, Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Hisham Swaifi and some senior officials, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
During the meeting, the president was briefed on the progress of work in those projects, including the infrastructure of a network of roads, axes, modern means of irrigation means, water treatment plants and electrical feed facilities, Spokesman Radi said. The president gave directives for ensuring the availability of all heavy equipment and agricultural machinery at the highest level in preparation for the winter planting season, and to achieve the highest possible rate of production from the large agricultural area being reclaimed nationwide, Spokesman Radi said.
In the remarks he made during the meeting, President Sisi noted that the provision of such equipment and machinery enhances the state’s efforts to develop the agricultural production sector, the spokesman said.
Such efforts, President Sisi explained in his remarks, boost the state’s drive to achieve self-sufficiency in strategic crops, create thousands of job opportunities in various specialisations and establish productive and industrial communities, Spokesman Radi said.
