CAIRO – The preparatory meetings of the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the AU Heads of State are due to kick off on January 15 in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.
The 47th Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC) – which comprises Permanent Representatives to the Union and other plenipotentiaries of Member States – will take place between January 15-26.
The 44th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council (Ministerial Session) will convene on February 14-15, while the 37th Ordinary Session of the AU Assembly (Heads of State and Government Session) will take place on February 17-18.
The executive council of the African Union is set to address a set of key topics and issues of special importance in the African arena, including accelerating the activation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), the humanitarian and social situation in the continent, economic inclusion as well as progress achieved regarding the implementation of the 2063 agenda, an African diplomatic sources told MENA.
