CAIRO – Egyptian State Minister for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs Nabila Makram has probed preparations for launching the second phase of the presidential initiative of online application “Etkalem Arabi” or (Speak Arabic).
The application mainly targets Egyptian children living abroad whose age varies between 7 and 9 years old.
During a meeting, Markram discussed all the details of the App with Chairman of Nahdet Misr Publishing House
Dalia Ibrahim and Education and Content Director at Nahdet Misr Publishing House Dalia Fouad.
Makram, meanwhile, extended thanks and appreciation to all the team of Nahdet Misr Publishing House for their co-operation in carrying out this presidential initiative, saying that this app is not for reading and writing in its usual form, but it has been developed in an engaging and attractive way in a form of a game, where children learn about Egypt and acquire information about the country’s traditions, customs, tourist attractions and culture in order to achieve the goal of the initiative.
The minister also said that they are working on the following stages of the application to target older age groups, according to a statement issued by the State Ministry for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs on Thursday.
The application mainly aims to preserve the national identity and strengthen the spirit of belonging to confront the war of obliterating the identity of the Egyptian generations living abroad, the statement quoted the minister as saying.
Launched in October 2019 by the State Ministry for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs, the
“Speak Arabic” initiative was officially implemented in October 2020. It received generous patronage from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and then the app was launched in 2021 and was fully produced by Nahdet Misr Publishing House.
