Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli attended on Saturday the launch ceremony of the Startups and Entrepreneurship Charter.

The cerement was also attended by Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania el Mashat, who also heads the Ministerial Group for Entrepreneurship, along with members of the group and a number of senior officials.

The Startups Charter represents a comprehensive national framework that, for the first time, establishes an institutionalized model for cooperation between the government and the entrepreneurship ecosystem.

It introduces clear policies and unified executive procedures aiming at removing obstacles facing startups at various stages of growth, from establishment to regional and international expansion.

The charter is viewed as a practical roadmap to unify the efforts of concerned government entities and to present an integrated vision that enhances the confidence of investors and entrepreneurs in Egypt’s investment climate.

It includes a broad package of more than 80 executive measures designed to improve the business environment for startups through simplifying government procedures, increasing transparency, and coordinating roles among relevant entities, thereby ensuring clear regulatory pathways for entrepreneurs.

The charter also aims to establish a unified definition of startups, helping identify entities eligible for incentives and facilitations, while reducing discrepancies in standards applied by different institutions.
