Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli began his tour in several facilities affiliated to the General Authority for Healthcare by visiting Karnak International Hospital in Luxor to follow up on the workflow in its different departments and ensure the availability of medical supplies and the provision of high-quality and efficient healthcare services to patients.

He said that the governorate receives large numbers of tourists annually.

Chairman of the General Authority for Healthcare Ahmed el Sobky asserted that Karnak International Hospital in Luxor is one of the authority’s flagship healthcare institutions and a cornerstone of the medical tourism system in Upper Egypt, given its advanced medical services, modern infrastructure and state-of-the-art equipment comparable to leading international hospitals.

Sobky stressed the importance of continuing to upgrade healthcare services in Luxor, one of Egypt’s most prominent tourist governorates, noting that an integrated healthcare system contributes to improving public health indicators and ensures precise monitoring of citizens’ medical needs.

Sobky said that Karnak International Hospital has a capacity of 149 beds, including 39 intensive care unit (ICU) beds, 44 dialysis machines, 10 neonatal incubators and 7 operating rooms.

He added that newly launched services include the operation of an oncology unit, the addition of 18 ICU beds and the full operation of the emergency department.
