Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli followed up on the project of developing Fustat Gardens, underlining the importance of expediting the pace of work to start its operation on schedule.
This goes in line with the state vision for restoring the civilizational glamour of Cairo to be an attractive tourist destination.
He made the remarks during an inspection tour of urban development projects in Cairo governorate and the Fustat Gardens development project.
The premier was accompanied by Housing Minister Asem el Gazzar, Local Development Minister Hisham Amna, Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel A’l, and a number of other senior officials.
Gazzar said Fustat Gardens in Old Cairo will be the largest of its kind in the Middle East.
The gardens are set up on an area of 500 feddans in Historical Cairo.
Board Chairman of the Urban Development Fund Khaled Seddiq said the project is meant to turn the area into an environmental, tourist, and cultural park.
