PM underlines importance of following up on implementation of ‘100 Million Trees’ initiative

CAIRO – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli underlined the importance of following up on the implementation of the “100 Million Trees” initiative.

The State gives special importance to expanding in increasing green spaces, as part of its positive and effective move to confront the impact of climate change, improve the environment and quality of life, and confront sources of pollution, added Madbouli.

The meeting, which was attended by a host of ministers and senior officials, was held to follow up on the executive position of the “100 Million Trees” initiative.

The meeting also tackled ongoing efforts to implement such initiative, which aims to plant 100 million trees by the ministries of environment, local development and housing within a timeframe spanning seven years, said Cabinet Spokesman Mohamed el-Homsani.
