Egyptian Prime Minister, Moustafa Madbouli, made a tour on Sunday of New Alamein City. The prime minister especially visited the entertainment area now constructed in the city. Constructed just opposite the Beach Towers which overlook the Mediterranean, the city is called ‘The Walk’.

Prime Minister Madbouli listened to an explanation about the different components of the project from Minister of Housing and New Urban Communities, Assem el-Jazzar.

The area, the minister of housing said, contains a shopping space and commercial malls.

Constructed over 66.8 feddans, the entertainment area also contains four pedestrian crossing tunnels that lead into the recreational area from the Beach Towers area, the minister said. He added that the project enjoys a large variety of services and parking spaces.

Minister el-Jazzar noted that the area also contains a number of luxurious plazas that include fountains of different shapes, flower basins, decorative columns, and various architectural and decorative elements.

The area is linked to main facilities in New Alamein, the minister said, noting that 95% of the city has already been completed.

Prime Minister Madbouli asked the engineers implementing the entertainment area project to complete planting the area with flower beds.

“The Walk will function as a lung of New Alamein City,” the prime minister said.

He said the area would provide all aspects of entertainment for visitors to this city and the residents of the Beach Towers.

He expected the area to be an attractive tourist and entertainment destination in New Alamein.

Minister el-Jazzar briefed the prime minister, meanwhile, about progress on the construction of the new coastal road.

He said the road had been completed, noting that lighting works were still underway.

The minister of housing added that four new bridges were being constructed along the same road.

He said the eastern and western lakes of the city were being dredged.

The prime minister’s tour in New Alamein also included the city’s mosque.

Constructed in the Heritage City, the mosque will be a landmark of the area.

The tour also took the prime minister to the Latin Quarter housing project.

Minister el-Jazzar said the project is constructed on an area of 404 feddans.

It is divided into six areas that comprise 220 residential buildings, the minister said.

He added that these buildings contain 12,600 flats with luxurious finishes.

The project also includes distinct service areas, parking lots, and gardens, the minister of housing said.

He said six contracting companies are implementing the project which is 94% complete.
