The premier lauded the project which goes in line with Egypt’s drive to cut carbon emissions and use clean energy, stressing the government’s support for these projects which are the fruits of the efforts exerted by ambitious young people.

The premier rode an electrified car during his tour of the factory to stand on its needs.

Shift EV is the first company in the world to work on locally electrofitting cars.

The company’s CEO Ali Tayyeb said they seek to turn commercial cars used by international logistics companies into low-emission vehicles and cut operation cost by over 80 percent.

The company is now working on developing passenger electric cars and aims to export its products and electric-shift technology to emerging markets having the same needs of the Egyptian market.
